PPTA Strike - Thursday 16th March

The Post Primary Teachers’ Association (PPTA) has indicated to the Wellington East Girls’ College Board that teachers at our school will be taking strike action on Thursday 16 March 2023.  The strike will affect all students.

After careful consideration, the Board has decided that, due to the unavailability of staff, it would be impracticable for students to attend school for instruction during the period of the proposed strike.

In these circumstances, it would assist the Board if the students are able to remain at home.   Otherwise the school will provide supervision for any students who are under 14 who need supervision. If you have any students who need supervision on this day please contact principal@wegc.school.nz with their name and Ako class. 

I appreciate that this may be an inconvenience for parents and students alike.   Please be assured that student safety is our main concern.
